David Littleproud ‘all over the shop’ on renewable energy: Murray Watt

Must read

Agriculture Minister Murray Watt has hit back at Nationals leader David Littleproud’s criticism of Labor’s renewable energy plans.

It comes as the Nationals leader doubled down on the Coalition’s stance on renewable energy, despite not offering a linear pathway for reaching net zero emissions by 2050.

Mr Watt claimed that Mr Littleproud was “all over the shop” when it comes to renewable energy.

“These people don’t know what they’re talking about, they don’t know what their policy is,” Mr Watt told Sky News Australia.

“The big risk in all that is that it endangers the investment and the jobs that are coming now and will continue to come from investment in renewable energy, not to mention the lower power prices it will generate.

“This point about transmission lines, are they going to set up nuclear reactors without transmission lines? How’s that going to get the power through to the energy that we need.”
