Congestion has started to clear across Melbourne’s train network after an earlier signalling outage caused delays of up to 60 minutes.
Commuters have been warned that there are delays of up to 15 minutes across all metro lines, and services may still be cancelled and altered at short notice as Metro Trains works to restore services.
At 5am on Thursday Metro Trains reported services had stopped due to a loss of signal controls.
The failure was resolved about an hour later, but it caused delays of up to 60 minutes for early morning commuters.
People are urged to allow extra travel time, and to listen for announcements and check platform displays.
More to come.
