Emergency crews are desperately searching for two men who failed to resurface at Millaa Millaa Falls on Tuesday, a popular tourist sport located more than an hour south of Cairns.

Rescue teams have suspended the search for trapped residents in Nepal following a landslide.

Around 70 people remain missing after the landslip swept two buses off a highway and into a river west of the capital Kathmandu.

Outgoing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal says he is “deeply saddened” by the accident.

According to police, a third man has been taken to hospital though his condition remains unknown.

It is understood a helicopter is en route and paramedics were also called to assist.

The Courier Mail reported the trio, all believed to be aged in their late 20s and early 30s, had all jumped into the water.

The attraction is known for the large waterhole situated at the base of the falls which proves popular with tourists all year round.

The falls are surrounded by pristine rainforest and a grassy picnic spot.

This is a developing story. More to come.
