Elden Ring’s long-anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is nearly upon us, launching on June 21st for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Despite being a DLC launch, there’s actually quite a bit to know about SOTE’s pre-order situation as it’ll be getting a physical release in a bundle together with the base game, multiple digital versions and even a physical Collector’s Edition.

DO I NEED TO FINISH THE BASE GAME TO PLAY THE DLC?
While you don’t need to have entirely completed the main Elden Ring questline to play the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, you will need to have met some prerequisite conditions. According to an interview with FromSoftware, you won’t be able to access the DLC until you’ve beath both Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, which are optional bosses in the base game.

WHEN DOES IT UNLOCK?
Digital versions of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will start unlocking at 12AM local time on June 21st (depending on platform).
