Four promising Eagles have re-signed with the club

A quartet of emerging West Coast Eagles have recommitted to the club after promising starts to their careers.

Versatile tall forward Jack Williams has extended his deal for two more seasons, tying the East Fremantle product to West Coast until the end of 2026.

Last year’s draftees Harvey Johnston and Clay Hall will also remain in blue and gold for two more seasons after adding an extra year to their initial contracts.

Meanwhile, Naitanui Academy success story Tyrell Dewar is locked in until the end of 2025 after agreeing to a one-year contract extension.

Dewar played his first game and kicked a team-lifting goal against Collingwood at Marvel Stadium in round nine, and has made three senior appearances to date.

Victorian product Johnston made his debut in round eight against Essendon and the effervescent 18-year-old has quickly become a popular member of the squad.

After a pre-season ankle setback, Hall’s impressive WAFL Eagles form has had the Peel recruit on the cusp of selection as an emergency.

Williams, also 20, has taken another step forward this season, booting nine goals from 10 games, including three in the fighting round eight loss to the Bombers.

“We are thrilled Jack, Tyrell, Clay and Harvey have committed to what we are building at the club, and they all have bright futures as part of our developing squad in the seasons ahead,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said.

“Jack has played 21 games halfway through his third season on our list and we are really excited by his potential as a key forward who can also pinch-hit in the ruck.

“It was terrific to see Tyrell and Harvey make their debuts in consecutive matches and that exposure has given them a taste of the level they are striving to reach consistently.

“Clay’s pre-season was excellent for a first-year player before his ankle injury in our intraclub, but the way he has worked back from that and performed for our WAFL Eagles side suggests he will be pushing for an AFL debut in the back half of the season.”
