England cricketer Brydon Carse has been given a three-month suspension from participating in any cricket matches for violating betting rules.
It is believed that Carse did not participate in any games he had wagered on. The events on which the pacer bet occurred over 5 years in the past. It is claimed that the pacer made 303 wagers on different games from 2017 to 2019. Carse was also handed a 13-month ban suspended for 2 years. Carse will be banned from May 28 to August 28, 2024.
The Cricket Regulator announced that Carse admitted to the charges, cooperated during the investigation, and showed notable regret for his actions. The Cricket Regulator also stated that they took into account “other major mitigating factors” when determining the duration of the ban.
Carse debuted in first-class cricket in 2016 playing for Durham. His first game for England at the international level was in an ODI in 2021, and he played his final match in December 2023. He participated in 14 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
