Adelaide United Football Club is thrilled to announce the five-year contract extension of Panagiotis “Pana” Kikianis, solidifying his commitment to the Club.
The young and talented defender has demonstrated his determination and grit on the field, affording himself the first 5-year contract in Isuzu UTE A-League history.
Making his debut in the Round 15 clash against Central Coast Mariners last season, Kikianis’ exceptional performances, including a last-kick goal against Perth Glory, have earned him a special place in the hearts of fans.
The contract extension furthers Kikianis’ South Australian football journey, commencing with Fulham United’s Under 7’s squad, finessing his football skills with West Adelaide’s side as a teenager, before moving through the ranks in Football SA NTC’s development program and Adelaide United’s NPL side.
Expressing his excitement about the contract extension, Kikianis conveyed his dedication to the Club.
“Making my debut last season was a dream come true,” said Kikianis.
“This Club holds a special place in my heart, and I am incredibly honoured and privileged to continue my journey with Adelaide United.
“Committing my future to the Club was an easy decision for me to make, as this is home for me.
“The coaching staff and playing group have really pushed me to make me the best player I can be and the support from the fans has been incredible.”
Head Coach, Carl Veart, is delighted to have Pana commit his future to Adelaide United.
“He’s an exceptional talent with immense potential, and he’s already shown what he’s capable of on the field,” said Veart.
“Pana’s commitment to the club is a testament to his dedication and ambition, and we’re excited to continue nurturing his development and watching him flourish in the coming years.
“His dedication, talent, and positive attitude make him an integral part of our squad at such a young age.”
Head of Football, Marius Zanin, said he was excited to see how Pana will develop over the coming seasons.
“It’s extremely rewarding for Pana to commit long-term with the Club,” said Zanin.
“Pana has made significant sacrifices to get this opportunity and we are excited about what the future holds for him.
“This also shows the Club’s commitment into the younger players and is a real credit to the work being done in the Youth Team, and through the Football SA NTC program.”
Adelaide United is excited to watch Kikianis continue to hone his football prowess on the national stage wearing the badge of his hometown Club.
