Farmer Wants A Wife star Anna Wilson has responded to fans demanding she star in a spin-off series.
The midwife, 28, from Queensland, starred in the 2024 series of the Channel 7 dating show but ultimately failed to win the heart of Farmer Dustin.
She was left broken-hearted in the finale when Dustin chose to pursue a relationship with Sophie Trethowan in what he said was a very difficult decision.
However, fans were quick to call for Anna’s return to reality TV as they urged Channel 7 to sign her up for another dating show to give her a second chance of love.
Anna has now responded to the calls for a spin-off show and admitted she was overwhelmed by the messages, but said she has no plans to return to reality TV.
‘I actually can’t believe the response I have had,’ she told Yahoo! Lifestyle. ‘Everyone has sent me thousands of kind and beautiful messages and I’m feeling quite overwhelmed about it all.’
Anna insisted she only ever went on the show to try and find a husband and said she has no plans to pursue a career in the public eye.
‘I didn’t get the husband, so I think I’m just going to slip back into my ordinary little life,’ she added.
Anna won over the hearts of Aussie viewers on FWAW and they took to Reddit after the finale to pitch a spin-off show where she looks for a partner.
They wrote: ‘Let’s get a spin-off where Country Town Wants a Midwife, they bring her around to [agriculture] shows in small towns where they bring out their top crop of eligible bachelors, the CWA do their pitch, hospital staff show her a good time, and even real estate agents show her what her new home could look like’;
‘We could extend the spin-off to a few fan favourites with useful professions or just make it the Anna show – since she’s all they need. Channel 7 – are you here and reading this?’;
‘I’m all for this idea! Both farmers really messed up’; ‘I think a new format, new producers, and make it more of a community thing rather than a harem competition.’
Farmer Dustin formed connections with both Anna and Sophie on the show, but ultimately picked Sophie in the finale as he declared he was falling in love with her.
Dustin, a cattle and crop farmer from Condobolin, NSW, was reportedly left feeling distressed by choosing between Anna and Sophie, both 28.
Speaking to New Idea, an insider claimed that ‘Dustin truly did care for both Anna and Sophie, but in the end he had to go with his heart.’
Dustin and Sophie walked into the sunset together at the end of the series and fans got a glimpse into their romance during the reunion show last week.
The couple revealed they had hit a hurdle in their relationship over the ‘rustic cabin’ they have moved in to on his farm.
‘It’s definitely a boy’s house. It needs so much done to it. I don’t know if it would pass a health and safety inspection at the moment,’ she said.

‘I moved out of my family home to another little house on the farm. It’s liveable,’ Dustin argued.
He confessed that the move ‘put the brakes on’ their relationship as Sophie wasn’t happy with the accommodations and did not want to move to the farm.
While there was some tension between the couple, they did reveal they are still together.
‘Fortunately, I haven’t scared her away yet,’ Dustin said, but Sophie admitted the cabin ‘might scare her off’ if he doesn’t fix it and bring in a plumber.
