Prince Harry has morphed from a happy ex-working royal living on the other side of the Atlantic into a lonely soul who misses his friends and longs to reconcile with his family who he has hurt so much, writes Angela Levin.
The Daily Mirror’s Royal Editor Russell Myers discusses a piece from the mirror about Prince Harry finding himself in a world that is growing increasingly unfriendly.
“I think for Pince Harry, it’s been quite a tumultuous time; it still seems very very fresh in the memory, their decision to leave the royal family,” Mr Myers said.
“Harry is really yet to find what he wants to do for his future.”
Tillman joined the military after the terror attacks of 9/11 but died by friendly fire in 2004.
The ESPY awards that give out annual gongs for excellence in sports chose to give the Pat Tillman award to Harry acknowledging his work with the Invictus Games – without consulting the footballer’s mother Mary.
She is furious with their choice.
“I am shocked, why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award,” she said publicly.
“There are recipients … working in the veteran community that are doing tremendous things to assist veterans.”
Hundreds of thousands of supporters are voting against it going to Harry.
Now Meghan loves receiving all sorts of accolades.
The ‘Ripple of Hope Award’ was given to her and her husband by Kerry, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy.

This award among other things promotes racial equality and the couple were praised for standing up to the alleged racism in the Royal Family.
The couple have since admitted the family were not racist – saying there is a difference between racism and unconscious bias.
Nevertheless, the award controversy has come at a complex time for our vulnerable but determined Prince.
Blink once and Harry can be found living happily in Montecito, California which is nearly 9,000 km away from the Royal Family who he left in 2020.
The mansion has 16 bathrooms and a 7.38-acre garden that offers tranquillity as well as the strawberries and raspberries Meghan needs for her latest enterprise of selling jam.
Harry has even hinted he may become a US citizen but as yet there are concerns about whether he lied about drug taking on his immigration forms that have so far been hard to get a hold of.
Blink again and Harry is a lonely victim, who longs to make amends with his family as they have been ignoring his verbal attacks for four years now.
One unnamed insider told Closer magazine: “He’s heartbroken and confused by the way (his family have) cut him off.”
He also would “have done anything” to have been invited to Trooping the Colour – a celebration each June marking the King’s official birthday.
He also longed to see Princess Catherine “face to face” in her first public appearance since she was diagnosed with cancer.
Yet Harry has been unkind about her too.
During a Netflix documentary in 2022 he said that royal men, except himself, tended to marry women who “fit the mould” rather than for true love, which he has done.
These remarks made William furious.
He’s also trying to be involved in the upbringing of William and Catherine’s children Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
He has told a UK newspaper that “out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare. And that … worries me.”
He admits William has said it is not his responsibility but he keeps trying.
Some say he hugely misses his friends, some of whom are not keen to visit because they don’t want to spend time with Meghan.
It has also been suggested that he is fed up with Meghan and her demands and believe it or not, has missed some of his former life.
Once upon a time he would have talked it through with his brother but it’s no surprise that William keeps him well away.
On top of that other royals find Harry difficult to trust as he has leaked private conversations.
Meanwhile, Harry is currently looking for a home in the UK partly because he wants to join royal events.
Last time he was there the King offered him space in St James’ Palace, very close to his London home and used by Princess Beatrice and Anne when in London.
But Harry didn’t feel it was safe enough.
Instead he wants 24/7 police protection and is taking the Home Office to court for the third time, which the British taxpayers are footing the bill for.
He is no longer a working royal and other protection is available.
Harry has also been accused of destroying evidence relating to his phone hacking lawsuit – and the judge has ordered him to explain himself.
The Duke of Sussex is clearly a man with a lot on his plate.
