Wolverine star Hugh Jackman is reportedly considering leaving Hollywood behind and relocating to London “to find himself” after the star’s sudden split from Deborra-Lee Furness.
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have announced they are separating after 27 years of marriage.
The pair, who have two children, released a joint statement about the decision.
“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
The two actors met on the set of Australian television series Corelli in 1995 and married the following year.
The New York-based star ended his 27-year marriage to Furness in September 2023 in a move that shocked industry insiders.
Jackman, who is currently living in London while filming Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie, is understood to be considering making the move permanent.
According to New Idea, the Aussie star enjoys living close to his mother and sister, who are also based in London.
“He wants to be closer to his mum and sister who are based there – and possibly to find love again,” an insider told the publication on Monday.
“He really wants to find somebody who can help him make the world a better place and put the good will he’s earned after 25 years in Hollywood to work for something more than his personal stardom,” the source said.
The source also claimed that Jackman, who returns to the silver screen this month in Deadpool & Wolverine, is eager to go beyond the “industry bubble” to meet a new partner.
“He is committed to branching outside of his entertainment industry bubble to find somebody he can spend the rest of his life with, and who can help him put his fortune to good use around the world.”
Hollywood insiders were stunned in September 2023 when the long-time showbiz power couple ended their seemingly rock-solid marriage, with Furness, 68, and Jackman, 55, jointly revealing they simply grew apart.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” they said in a joint statement obtained by People magazine.
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.”
Jackman and Furness met in Melbourne while working on the TV series Corelli in the 1990s and share two adult children Ava and Max.
Furness is also understood to be single but has been spotted out and about with some of Australia’s most eligible bachelors in recent months, including former Mentalist star Simon Baker.
Baker and Furness were seen attending the Australian Open men’s final in January, but it later emerged Baker is dating new girlfriend Laura May Gibbs.
Gibbs, 36, is a Byron Bay-based fashion designer that Baker met after leaving Hollywood and returning to Australia.
