Flemington will host Saturday Racing in Victoria this weekend with the David Bourke and the VRC-CRV Trophy being the highlights. Race 1 will start at 11:50am (AEST) with the two-year-old’s going around, but our best three plays come up later in the afternoon. Gallopers will race on a Soft5 and there isn’t expected to be any rain on the day. We have gone value here, so we’re really only need one of the three to salute to make it a good day!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, June 22nd 2024
Race 4: Bruce Gadsden Handicap – 1:35pm (AEST)
(6) Belle Et Riche is on her last chance here or she is in the sack file. She should run top three in this event from the inside draw but she hasn’t been setting the world alight as of late. She is better than her form reads and she returns to her favourite track. A gear change may be key with the winkers going on and despite it being more than 16 months since her last win, she has placed in over 50 percent of her starts. She will get back and will need luck but she is over the odds.
(9) Electric Impulse is fit and has won 2 from 4 on the Soft. She is versatile in the run and she has won twice over this distance.
(5) Beour Bay will get a good run in this from barrier 3 and if there is little pace in the race she should be in the finish. Goes well over the 1400m.
Race 6: The David Bourke: – 2:45pm (AEST)
(6) King Of The Castle is fitter now and is having his first try over the track & distance. He likes Soft tracks and this is his favourite distance. He comes over from NSW for the Pride Team and his latest 3rd was very good when he made late ground. He gets Shinn on for the first time and barrier 6 looks ideal. The seven-year-old knows how to win and has a good winning strike rate. May start fav in this.
(4) SIbaaq hasn’t won in two years and has drawn a touch wide (9) but I think he may run a cheeky race in this. Will settle 2nd on the outside I reckon and will be hard to pass. He has run in a few Group races and he will find this easier.
(1) Munhamek ran on well to score in the Swan Hill Cup and he has won over the track & distance before. He gets a jockey claim with Gaudray taking the reins.
Race 7: VRC-CRV Trophy – 3:25pm (AEST)
(8) Watadeel has drawn wide in 15 and will need to get cover in the run with a relatively short run to the first turn. He is fitter now and has the ability to run on well and will hook to the outside upon entering the long Flemington straight. His form on the Soft is very good and he has won at Flemington before. The slight worry is the distance because he hasn’t even placed over the 1400m yet but I reckon there is more early pace in this race compared to last start over the same trip and that will suit his racing pattern. The Neasham Stable is in form and this one is over the odd.
(1) Lafargue will be fitter now and he does race well in this class. He does struggle over this track & distance but has won over the 1440m at other tracks.
(5) Le Ferrari has drawn wide in 14 and may get trapped wide which is a slight concern. He has been in the money on 10 occasions when over the 1400m and can place again at odds. Ben Allen stays on and he has won on him before.
