Other data from Spotify shows that British listeners have spent 2.5 million hours streaming football songs over the last two weeks alone, with more than 14,000 playlists created in dedication to UEFA’s Euros tournament hosted by Germany.

There have been more football-themed playlists created than in any other country taking part in the contest and there is also a nod to a feeling of patriotism as the City of London Choir’s version of God Save the King has seen streams surge by 319%.

Football fans looking for inspiration in their listening around the tournament should check out Spotify’s dedicated football hub, which includes podcasts, music and editorial content about the tournament.

Recommendations include Spotify’s football anthems playlist and podcasts Euros Daily, Football Weekly, Football Ramble and Stick to Football.
