Fragrance meets fashion at Mugler’s first Chinese boutique

Must read

Fragrance and fashion retailer Mugler has made its Chinese debut with a pop-up store that will last a year.

The store is located in Shanghai’s upscale shopping centre Réel and offers the brand’s fashion and fragrance products. It was designed by Casey Cadwallader, Mugler’s creative director, and British architect Sophie Hicks.

The store has a blue pallet and is constructed of brushed aluminium. It features a dress from the brand’s latest spring 2024 collection and a blown-up model of Mugler’s Art Deco-inspired Les Exceptions perfume bottle.

The store offers ready-to-wear fashion items, accessories, handbags from Mugler’s collection, and scents including Angel and Alien, Over the Musk, Mystic Aromatic and Chyprissime.

Mugler previously visited China in April with a pop-up shop at Shanghai’s Machine-A. According to WWD, Asia is one of Mugler’s priority markets for growth. The company’s MD, Adrian Corsin, said the brand plans to bring new experiences to the local market later this year, and expand into other Chinese cities.
