Golf tip of the week: A narrower stance promotes leg action

Must read

For a full swing, the feet should be approximately the width of your shoulders, depending on the club being used.

Too broad of a stance prevents the legs from working correctly. All good athletes use legs for power, and golf is no different.

If the feet are too far apart, the legs will not work, promoting upper body domination. The feet should be approximately shoulder width, narrower is better than too far apart.

To get the proper feel for leg action, stand with your feet about six inches apart and push the knees toward each other slightly until you feel pressure on the insteps of both feet. Allow the knees to touch each other, chip a few balls and you will notice how the legs should work when executing a full swing.

Remember to enjoy this great game called golf.
