WA Police are on the hunt for a man possibly armed with a gun after another man received gunshot wounds to both of his hands in the South West.

Bunbury detectives are looking for 34-year-old Joseph James Horohau Coombe as part of their investigation into a firearm incident on Sunday morning.

“About 8:15am, police received information regarding a man being shot in Clifton Street, Collie,” a spokesman said.

“The man, who is aged in his 30s, received gunshot wounds to both his hands and attended Collie Hospital.”

The West understands the man’s injuries are the result of possible shotgun wounds. His condition remains unknown.

“It is believed the incident involved persons known to each other, and was not a random incident,” police said.

The West understands police have deployed extensive resources to try and catch Mr Coombe as part of their ongoing investigation into the shooting.
