HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Head Coach Bob Chesney has announced the hire of Hannah Ross as the football program’s new Director of On-Campus Recruiting.

In this role, Ross is responsible for coordinating and managing all on-campus official and unofficial recruiting visits, including game day visits by prospective student-athletes. She coordinates recruiting correspondence with prospective student-athletes, high school coaches, junior college coaches and other appropriate entities.

“We’re excited to welcome Hannah Ross to the JMU football family,” Chesney said. “Hannah comes with a wealth of experience in the on-campus recruiting space, and we are thrilled to have her as a member of our team. Hannah will be a great asset in helping us promote JMU football and recruiting talented prospective student-athletes to our program.”

Ross also helps develop and maintain JMU’s prospective student-athlete databases and coordinates the collection of transcripts, assists with admissions and onboarding processes for signed athletes and works in conjunction with compliance, admissions and academics to ensure prospects meet James Madison University and NCAA admission standards.

She’ll also oversee preliminary academic evaluations of all PSAs.

Ross joins the Dukes after spending the previous two seasons at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La., which included her serving the same role she’ll assume at JMU since November. She was also a student intern during the 2022 season and partially through the 2023 campaign.

While with the Bulldogs, Ross developed and implemented comprehensive strategies for orchestrating junior days, both official and unofficial visits, along with coordinating camps tailored to incoming recruits and prospective student-athletes. She also oversaw media day logistics for recruits and supervised all student staff.

Ross is a 2023 graduate of Louisiana Tech, receiving her Bachelor of Science in marketing with an emphasis of sports marketing.
