Hills Football calls for support of ‘Home of Football’ – Football NSW

Must read

Hills Football will see a much overdue Centre of Excellence established at Caddies Creek (Stage 2) to help meet the fast-growing demand for football in the community.

Following a draft Master Plan published by The Hills Shire Council in 2021, Hills Football Inc. (HFI) and Hills United FC (HUFC) received unwavering community support of their joint submission for the proposed site.

Speaking on the Football NSW Community Podcast, Hills Football General Manager Charlotte Ercil spoke of the dire community need for a ‘Hills Home of Football’ and the ongoing behind the scenes work to make this a reality.

“We are one of the only associations across NSW that does not have a home of our own (home of football),” said Ercil.

“We need a home to call our own where we can host everything. This would essentially bring the whole football community together and will provide unlimited options to run whatever we like.”

As they await access to the land, Hills Football has launched a call for support around the project across the Hills community.

“We’re still pushing for access to the land; thats our biggest problem. Until we can pick up a shovel, we unfortunately cant apply for funding.

“In the background, we’ve been working on designs, our business plan (and) putting things on everyone’s radar. We also went out with a campaign in the form of a video message and we’ll be working with our clubs to do the same.”
