Reliable tellers of future events have confirmed that Seven will begin airing horoscopes on its nightly news, beginning tonight.
The short segment will be hosted by Natasha Weber, otherwise known as AstroTash, who presents a regular astrology reading on Seven’s The Morning Show.
It’s part of new Seven news boss Anthony De Ceglie’s plan to shake-up the network’s news offerings.
He is rumoured to be testing new anchors during Mark Ferguson’s two-week break over the Olympics, with the likes of Michael Usher, Angela Cox, Angie Asimus, and Edwina Bartholomew expected to fill in.

Last week saw the debut of a new weekly satirical segment, The 6:57pm News, to be hosted by comedian Mark Humphries each Friday evening.
De Ceglie said, when announcing Humphries’ new segment: “When the nightly news is done well, it’s always been about more than just breaking stories, the latest crime incidents, sports highlights or world events. It’s also about making you think, sometimes making you cry and hopefully making you smile.”
Channel 7 journalist Sharyn Ghidella, who was let go with a phone call last week, after 17 years with the network, had a crack at De Ceglie’s new initiatives on her way out, saying: “It wasn’t quite how I expected it to end at Channel 7. Here’s hoping my horoscope for tomorrow will be for brighter times ahead.”
Seven News is routinely the country’s most-watched show each evening, but De Ceglie has reportedly urged staffers to “stop worrying about the traditional ratings war with rival Nine, and instead focus on taking risks.”
Mumbrella has contacted Seven for comment.
