Horse Racing Tips: Nap of the Day

Must read

David Ord provides the Tuesday selections with his Nap in action at Newbury.

He’s progressed with every run so far and there has to be more to come from EBEN ZAABEEL on handicap debut.

A well bred son of Sea The Stars, he finished fourth behind Leicester Square at Salisbury last time, not enjoying the best of runs. He looked suited by the mile-and-a-half trip there and an opening mark of 79 is workable.

CATTON LADY – 2.47 Beverley

She shaped well when second to Travis at Pontefract last time and getting weight all round CATTON LADY makes plenty of appeal.

The return to seven furlongs should suit Joanna Mason’s mount who was doing all her best work at the finish at the West Yorkshire track over six and she has a handy low draw too.

GET THE VALUE – 4.00 Newton Abbot

He looks to have been brought along with handicaps in mind and it would be no surprise to see GET THE VALUE take a step forward now switched to the sphere.

The six-year-old again hinted at better to come when fifth behind Fortifed Fortune in a novice here last time and the step up to two miles two looks to be in his favour. A rating of 89 seems perfectly fair too.

NILOUFAR – 5.15 Brighton

She failed to complete her hat-trick at Newbury last time but returning to a Class 6 contest NILOUFAR looks sure to give a good account.

Harry Charlton’s charge did in Berkshire to be fair, beaten a length-and-a-half into fourth by Laura Bay, proving her stamina for this ten furlongs trip in the process. Freshened up since she should be competitive.
