Huge change coming to Freo’s iconic Metros nightclub

Fremantle’s iconic Metropolis nightclub has temporarily closed as it undergoes major renovations, promising to transform the legendary — but dated — venue into “a world-class super club”.

The beloved entertainment spot shared a video on social media last week announcing the closure of the popular club, with the post confusing their loyal customers.

Many hoped it wasn’t a permanent shutdown as they shared their devastating in the comments.

“😢 Please, why? Is this permanent?” one person asked.

Another said: “Good bye!! Made some good mems there ! ❤️❤️❤️.”

However, just days later partygoers were able to breathe a sigh of relief as the beloved nightclub shared another video announcing a revamp.

The landmark building — which has operated as Metros since 1991 — is set to undergo much-needed works, including replacing the infamous dirty carpets.

Punters can expect new bars, booths, seating, dancefloors and even secret rooms.

A 6m aerial installation that “blurs the line between art and production” is also set to be an exciting addition to the venue.

The makeover will be unveiled on Saturday, June 15, and West Aussies have been invited to celebrate the relaunch.

“Step into a statement where tradition meets innovation. Our grand launch event promises an unforgettable experience as we unveil the new Metropolis — a superclub that defines nightlife in Western Australia. This is not just a club; it’s a statement, a community, and a legacy.”
