Hundreds of homes across north-west Victoria have been hit by a power outage today.
In an update at 5.30am, energy company Powercor said a total of 286 customers were without power, mainly in the state’s Central Highlands region.
There were 124 impacted properties in the city of Ballarat, with the supply forecast to be restored by 12.30pm today.
The town of Watchem has 100 affected customers. Services are expected to be back on by 8am.
Affected customers have received a text message about the work and the estimated restoration time, says Powercor.
“This is the time when power is expected to be back on. Sometimes crews are able to restore power faster.
“In other times, it can take longer than anticipated after crews fully investigate the cause of the outage.”
This is a developing story.
