The Elite is the mid-grade version of Hyundai’s new Santa Fe range.
At launch it’s powered exclusively by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged hybrid drivetrain (172kW/367Nm) in all-wheel drive via a six-speed automatic transmission.
The new design is larger in almost every dimension, with the Elite grade being offered only in seven-seat format.

Standard equipment at the Elite grade includes 20-inch alloy wheels, dual 12.3-inch screens for the multimedia suite and digital instrument cluster, dual wireless chargers to go with its wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, synthetic leather interior trim with heated front seats and power adjust for the driver, dual zone climate, push-start ignition with keyless entry, a Bose premium audio system, as well as remote parking and highway assist features.
All hybrid Santa Fes have a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 5.6L/100km and can consume 91RON unleaded fuel.
All the core active safety equipment is present, including auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert and rear occupant warning.
Like all Hyundais, the Santa Fe is covered by a five year and unlimited kilometre warranty, with five years of roadside assist and five years of capped price servicing, which lands at an average of $481 a year.
The Elite is our pick of the range, as it offers the best price to spec ratio in the new Santa Fe line-up.
