‘I am so sorry’: Pink’s shock news before major overseas concert

American singer Pink has dropped devastating news a day before she was due to take the stage for a major overseas concert, with messages of support from fans flooding in for the pop star.

Pop singer Pink has stepped back from her busy Australian tour to visit the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

The award-winning musician spent up to two hours alongside her daughter Willow talking to the kids and their parents.

Pink and Willow also performed an acoustic version of ‘Cover Me in Sunshine’.

Posting to her social media, Pink shared footage on her Instagram.

The pop star asked her followers to learn more about the hospital and its work.

The singer was set to perform at Wankdorf Stadium in Bern on Wednesday as part of her Summer Carnival Tour, but made the call to cancel last minute after speaking with her doctors.

“I am so sorry that I have had to cancel my show in Bern this Wednesday,” Pink announced on Instagram.

“I do everything I can to ensure I can perform for you every night, but after consultation with my doctor and exploring all options available, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to continue with the show tomorrow.

“I was looking forward to being with you and making memories with you and sharing our show with you and am so disappointed that we have to cancel.”

The 44-year-old confirmed all tickets for the show would be refunded.

“Sending love and health to you all, and I really hope to see you again soon,” she added.

Organisers of the Switzerland event released a similar statement, saying “due to illness and after a thorough medical examination, the performance has to be cancelled on doctor’s advice”.

Fans were quick to send messages of support to the So What singer, many understanding the decision to put her health first.

“I was waiting for your concert for such a long time – but health comes first. All the best and get well soon,” one social media user said.

“Take care of you, girl. We know you would never cancel a show unless it was absolutely necessary,” another commented.

“I am so sad. Get well soon! I hope we will see you soon again in Switzerland!” a third added.

“The energy you put into each performance is off the scale! You give your heart and soul, whilst you’re strong and resilient your body can only take so much,” another said.

A source told United Kingdom’s The Sun that Pink had been working “so hard on the road” this year, noting her performances are always action-packed with stunts.

“This, naturally, takes a toll on her and she has been advised to take a break,” the insider continued.

“The call to cancel the gig was a hard one for her to make because she hates letting down her fans.”

The Raise Your Glass singer made the trip Down Under earlier this year for the Australian leg of her Summer Carnival Tour.

She kicked off her tour at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium before travelling around the country for her other concerts across February and March.

While in the Harbour City, Pink shared a series of happy snaps enjoying a bite to eat at Bondi Beach with her family, as well as a bike ride around Sydney’s Opera House.
