Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has said he remains unsure if he’ll be fit in time for this year’s tournament. Murray had surgery after he was forced to withdraw from the Queen’s Club Championship through injury, and while he’s set to open his tournament on Tuesday, Murray admitted he’s not certain if he’ll play.
“Obviously had the operation on the back, which wasn’t insignificant,” Murray said. “Just been trying to do everything that I can to try and get ready to start the tournament here.” If fit, the Briton will face Tomas Machac in the first round. “It’s getting better every single day,” he said of the injury. “Like I said a few days ago, I want to give it every single chance that I can to get there.”
