As soon as the temperatures exceed 70°, my hair promptly goes up into a ponytail or messy bun — however, this can make wearing a sun-shielding baseball cap a little difficult, since I have way too much hair to stuff neatly into one. The openings on typical baseball caps are also very low, and threading my ponytail through there tends to give me a “Colonial drummer boy going off to fight in the Revolutionary War” sort of look. Being someone who spends a lot of my summer off-time at the beach, I wanted to find a way to still wear a hat while keeping my hair up and looking cute — and, finally, I found the perfect solution. Behold: the Eohak Ponytail Baseball Hat!
(Skin-protecting) business in the front, (ponytail) party in the back.
From the front, this may look like your typical baseball cap, but the back is really where the magic happens. That’s because it has two lined openings back there — the usual one, where you can adjust the fit of your cap, and a higher one created specifically for ponytails and buns. That means you can wear your high-up hairdo and the hat all at once — without sacrificing comfort or style.
Aside from the awesomeness of not having to resort to a low ponytail, the Eohak functions perfectly as a standard baseball cap too. It shields your face from the sun — important in the summer! — and the adjustable buckle strap in the back keeps it snug, even on the breeziest days. It’s not stiff or structured, but instead uses premium stretchy fabric and a six-panel construction to keep its shape. I love the slightly distressed look, too — well-loved, but not sloppy — and it comes in a variety of neutral colors, nearly all of which are priced at $10 or less.
I’m not the only fan of the massively useful Eohak Ponytail Baseball Hat — in fact, over 4,300 Amazon shoppers have given the comfy cap a stylish five-star rating.
“I was going on a fishing trip and wanted a hat that was comfortable, blocked me from the sun and didn’t cost a lot, just in case I left it behind,” said one reasonable reviewer. “The hat was super comfortable, had a perfect opening for my ponytail, stayed on snugly and looked cute.”
Not surprisingly, it’s a big hit with the active set. “My favorite new hat to throw on when taking a walk or run! Great for a high pony or bun,” wrote one shopper.
Another added, “This hat is amazing! It has a great lip to protect from the sun. It fits well, is easy to wash, and the ponytail hole is the most incredible feature. You can have so many versatile hairstyles with a ball cap now.” This same reviewer did note, “The only issue is that the sizing does not seem to be very adjustable, so hopefully it just fits your head. It should fit most people in a standard size.” I would agree with that assessment — the adjustment buckle takes a little finagling, but that’s typical of most baseball caps.
“I don’t write too many reviews, but this hat is too cute, and I needed to,” raved a final fan. “I’ll start off by saying I have never worn a hat in my life, other than a wide-brimmed hat at the beach. I recently had surgery on my face and have a large bandage covering half of my forehead. I wanted a hat to cover my face, but I also wear high ponytails, and a normal hat wouldn’t work. This hat covers my bandage and works perfectly for my high ponys. I am no longer self-conscious about going out in public or working out at the gym for fear of everyone staring at me. I have gotten many compliments and plan on ordering another color!!”
