Must read

John Farnham’s son has shared incredible photos of his father after he was given the “all clear” of cancer.

In 2022, the 74-year-old underwent 12-hour surgery after being diagnosed with throat cancer, with doctors removing a tumour from his mouth and reconstructing his jaw.

Now his son Robert has revealed just how far his father has come in wedding photos shared to social media.

“Shared the happiest moment with my favourite person in the universe and she said I do. Melissa, my life is forever better that you’re a part of it. You looked radiant, beautiful and elegant. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us and I’m truly honoured to have you by my side as my wife for life,” Robert wrote.

At the wedding John looked relaxed with his hands in his pockets as he posed in photos, including one with his wife Jillian.

Late last year, Farnham’s son, Robert, said his dad was now “cancer-free” and “really happy”.

Speaking to Sunrise hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington, Robert said his dad was going from strength to strength following major surgery last August.

“He’s doing fantastic,” he said on Sunrise. “Just the other day he was, you know, walking around with his cane and did a little bit of a dance, which was pretty fabulous.

“He’s walking with his dog a lot — so he’s really, really happy.”

The proud son went on to say that his dad had even started singing again.

“He’s doing really good, he’s super positive,” he added.

“Like we’ve said before, cancer is a terrible, terrible thing. And it’s his time to walk that road, but he’s cancer-free.

“And, yeah, he’s doing really, really good. So, it’s very, very good to hear him.

“He sings at home again, the whole thing.”
