Amanda Balionis is one of the most recognizable golf reporters around, having interviewed the biggest stars in the sport.

Although she is known in the golf world for how she tackles interviews, Balionis had an even bigger spotlight aimed at her in the wake of the initial news that Rory McIlroy had filed for divorce from his wife, Erica Stoll. While there was nothing conclusive between Balionis and McIlroy, aside from a professional relationship on the links, many believed the two were in a secret romance because of how the pair interacted with each other on TV.

What added fuel to the fire was at around the same time, Balionis removed all mention of her husband, former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner, and was spotted without her wedding ring. Though the two never publicly spoke out as to why Balionis removed Renner’s name from her social media profiles, it still intrigued fans.

A few weeks after initially filing for divorce, McIlroy announced he and Stoll had made up their differences and elected to stay together and save their marriage. McIlroy has also quashed these rumors involving himself and Balionis. “There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate,” he told The Guardian in June. “Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game.”
