Travel management firm ISON Travel has acquired Rhode Island-based Global Excellence Inc as part of its global expansion.
ISON Travel, which was founded by Helen Cannon in 2013, already has operations in the UK, Middle East, India and the Philippines.
The acquisition of Global Excellence, which specialises in corporate and luxury leisure travel as well as meetings and events, sees ISON extend its reach into the US. The agency, which has an annual turnover of around $10 million, was co-founded by Diane Plante and Patti Pillay in 1994 who will both remain “actively involved” in running the US business.
In a statement provided to BTN Europe, ISON said it has “an increasing number of customers who will benefit from us having a presence in the US and this will also give us an even stronger proposition for prospect customers who are looking for a service in both the UK and USA. Likewise, Global Excellence have a number of customers who will benefit from our UK presence.”
Cannon said: “We are incredibly proud of ISON Travel’s reputation for exceptional service and employee satisfaction, so it was important to me to find a company who shares these values and in Global Excellence we have.”
Plante added: “Our mutual vision for further supporting our existing customers in additional countries gives us an immediate and exciting mission together.”
ISON Travel was ranked as the 29th largest TMC in the UK in the list of Europe’s Leading TMCs 2024.
