A dispute over an assigned laundry room has resulted in an angry note shared online.
In the apartment complex, laundry rooms are assigned, but clearly not everyone is happy to follow the rules.
The tenant explained on Reddit’s ‘Apartment Living’ thread: “Neighbor’s adult daughter broke into my assigned laundry room to wash, do you think a friendly reminder note in the basket of clothes I dried for her will suffice?”

They also shared a copy of the note which has been dated June 7 and is written in red pen.
It reads: “Friendly Reminder that the Laundry Room is soley [sic] for the tenants of unit [unit number redacted].

“Thank you for understanding!”
A passive-aggressive smiley face has been added to the bottom of the note.
They later explained each unit has it’s own laundry room “located outside of their respective unit technically “but when I initially moved in they were all locked off and non operational and in disarray.”
“I eventually got permission to utilise one and cleaned it out and bought a new washer and dryer replacing the old moldy washer/dryer that was in there,” they added.
Although Redditers weren’t feeling hopeful that the note would be affective considering the neighbour’s daughter broke in in the first place, knowing they weren’t meant to use the room.
“If she had to break in, then she knows it’s not for her,” one pointed out.
“Smother the door knob in mystery goo,” another suggested.
One Redditer commented: “She broke in. She knows what she did. I’d put a stronger lock in and a camera. The kind with a built in microphone and alarm so you can tell her to GTFO if she does it again, and you can set off the alarm and say ‘the cops are coming’ to scare her off.”

“Sorry, but a note is not going to bother her one moment. She’s going to do it again because if she did it once she has no regard at all for others,” another said.
Another suggested donating the clothes to teach the laundry interloper a message, while one Redditer suggested taking more serious action.
“Breaking and entering your property is a crime though? I’d call the police and file a report,” they suggested.
“Any reason for not contacting your Landlord about this?” one asked, adding that a note is unlikely to stop the behaviour.
“I’d give her one warning since it doesn’t sound like any real harm was done.
If it happens again, you can take pictures of her undergarments and put up flyers like people do with pets they’ve found,” another suggested.
