Four Jetstar crew members have fallen ill following a domestic flight from the Gold Coast to Cairns.

Flight JQ966 was travelling between the two Queensland cities on Thursday when cabin crew noticed an “unusual smell” about 9.30am.

A Jetstar spokesperson confirmed several members of the crew became unwell.

“Four of our cabin crew reported an unusual smell and started feeling unwell after the flight,” the spokesperson said in a statement to SkyNews.com.au.

“The four crew members were assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital for observation.

“There were no passenger reports of the smell and the aircraft landed normally in Cairns.

“The aircraft will be thoroughly checked by our engineers.”

After disembarking, one crew member became faint, having to be held up by her colleague.

The unusual smell was not noticed by the pilots and no passengers were affected.

The four female members of the cabin crew were taken to hospital in a stable condition after being treated with oxygen.

“Four female patients suffered symptoms including nausea and headaches after reportedly being affected by fumes on an aircraft at 9.38am,” a spokesperson from Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed.

“All patients were transported in stable conditions to Cairns Hospital.”
