Jobs to go at Woodside

Must read

Woodside is reportedly in the process on enacting an organisational restructure which could impact a small number of jobs in Western Australia.

Staff managing Woodside’s Macedon gas plant and offshore oil vessels were informed of potential job cuts on Tuesday morning, WAToday repoted.

Macedon is an offshore gas field located approximately 75km west of Onslow. This masthead understands the restructure does not impact a large number of employees.

“Woodside routinely reviews its workforce needs to ensure alignment with business activities and priorities, while ensuring safe and reliable operations,” a Woodside spokesperson said.

It comes after the oil and gas company made a “small number” of redundancies at its Perth headquarters in March.

The Scarborough project developer, which has a workforce of more than 3,500 in Western Australia, said the redundancies followed a review of workforce requirements.

Last year Woodside looked at divesting the Macedon asset, alongside the Pyrenees project, but told the market it decided to retain ownership of both in April.
