Jose Mourinho is set for an awkward reunion at Fenerbahce, having previously issued a warning to one of their now-players.
Mourinho, who has been out of work since his dismissal at AS Roma, has reached an agreement to become the new Fenerbahce boss.
That’s according to Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims the former Chelsea and Real Madrid gaffer has penned a two-year deal at the Turkish club.,
If the deal comes to fruition, then it will be his 11th managerial role in his legendary career and his first in Turkey.
Mourinho’s potential appointment comes after Fenerbahce failed to win the league title this season.
They recorded an impressive 99 points and lost just one league game.
However, they were pipped to top spot by Galatasaray, who accumulated a massive 102 points.
The Portuguese will be tasked with winning the Turkish Super Lig if he lands the job and will call upon a familiar player.
Fenerbahce boast Fred, who played under the 61-year-old at Manchester United.
Fred signed for the club after leaving the Red Devils as Mourinho snapped him up from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52 million in the summer of 2018.

But their relationship turned sour when the veteran manager subbed him during a 2-1 home defeat to Valencia in the Champions League.
He took the Brazilian midfielder aside and reportedly said “your days at this club are numbered.”
Mourinho, though, was relieved of his duties at Man United just six days later.
What’s more, Mourinho ‘never wanted to sign’ Fred, according to a report.
He feared Ed Woodward would not sanction the signing of another midfielder if he refused and felt the midfielder wouldn’t be able to cut it at the club.
Fred made 213 appearances across all competitions for Man United before leaving Old Trafford in 2023.
