After returning for two major public appearances since her cancer diagnosis in March, Catherine, Princess of Wales is expected to step away from royal duties again.
Kate recently delighted fans as she made an appearance at Wimbledon on Sunday with her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton.
But it is expected we won’t be seeing Kate in public again for a while with well-placed sources telling Vanity Fair that both Prince William and Kate are planning to spend a “summer break” at their Norfolk bolthole with their three children.

It’s believed the family will spend the summer “below the radar” as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoy some time off school and as Kate continues her cancer treatment.
During their time off, the Wales family will not be travelling overseas but they are expected to make a visit to King Charles and Queen Camilla in Scotland, Vanity Fair reports.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK magazine that the break will be a welcome relief for the royal family who have had a difficult start to the year.
“It’s been one heck of a year for the royal family so far and nothing would please the King more than to have his close family gathered together in the peace of Balmoral for a time to take stock together, mark the passing of an incredibly difficult few months and look to the future,” Bond explains.
Since her cancer diagnosis, Kate has only made two public appearances. The first was during last month’s Trooping The Colour which she attended with her family to celebrate the King’s official birthday. The second was her recent appearance at Wimbledon.

Kate beamed with smiles as she appeared at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Sunday afternoon (about 10.50pm AEST) for the men’s singles final clash between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
As she arrived at the royal box with her sister and daughter, the crowd roared in cheers and an impromptu standing ovation taking place across centre court for her.
Following Alcaraz’s win over Djokovic, Kate took part in the trophy presentation.
In June, the princess revealed she was making “good progress” with her treatment but was “not out of the woods yet” in her biggest update on her recovery since announcing her diagnosis in March 2024.
