Kevin Costner has detailed his plan to move forward after his recent divorce from his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner.
Talking to CBS Mornings host Gayle King, the actor was asked how he is coping with his divorce.
“That’s a crushing moment. It’s powerful. It hurt,” Costner confessed.

“But I go forward. I have no choice – my children are looking at me.
“So I can’t wilt like a daisy; I have to go forward. I have to continue to be who I am and keep a special eye on who they are.”
Costner and Baumgartner tied the knot in 2004, having dated since 1998.
Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, 2023, after 18 years of marriage, listing the separation date as April 11, 2023.

Together, they share three children: Cayden, 17; Hayes, 15; and Grace, 14.
The pair agreed to share custody of their children, with a rep for Costner sharing the news of their divorce in a joint statement.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired, which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” it read.
“We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
Once their divorce was finalised, the rep shared, “Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed-upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings.”

When People asked the actor if he would be interested in finding love again, he said: “Yeah, I think everybody would like to be in love.
“There’s such a good feeling that’s associated with that. It may have to be defined in a different way, but yeah, I love the idea of that possibility.”
