Kyle Sandilands has learned live on air that he has lost his driver’s licence.
The 52-year-old radio and TV star was informed by his manager during a segment on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday morning that he had been caught speeding in Sydney.
The speeding fine and accompanying demerit point mean Sandilands is no longer allowed to drive.

Motorists are slapped with demerit points if they commit driving offences. All drivers start with zero demerit points, but if they accrue a certain number — which depends on their licence — their driver’s licence may be suspended.
Sandilands revealed that he had been caught speeding in a Sydney tunnel where the speed limit was clearly marked as 80km, but he thought it was higher.
He blamed his car’s speed sign recognition function as well as a conversation he had previously had with the state’s premier for his mistake.
“So, on my speed sign recognition, it said 90km. But on the sign in the tunnel, it said 80km,” Sandilands said.
“I remember Chris Minns, the premier of NSW, sitting with me saying, ‘We’re kicking it (the speed limit) up to 90km’. And I thought that some d***head (hadn’t) updated the sign.”
However co-host Jackie “O” Henderson questioned why he trusted his car’s display over a physical road sign to which he replied: “I believed the tech in my vehicle and the premier of NSW.”
Sandiland’s manager informed him the speeding fine was only worth one demerit point, but even that was enough to tip his limit over the line and to lose his licence.
The radio and TV personality revealed it was the ninth time he had lost his licence, which shocked his co-host.
“Ninth? You’re joking me!,” Henderson said.
Sandilands said the only other option was to flee to the US where he could drive freely.
“Well, it looks like everyone, I’m gonna have to leave the building. I’m going to have to go to Los Angeles,” he said.
