League of Legends has shared details about its upcoming summer event that comes with a big new addition to the game: a limited-time survivor mode called ‘Swarm.’ A video trailer for the Anima Squad event highlights the new mode’s gameplay while also previewing new skins and showing a new champion in action.
Swarm will see League players piloting their characters in a new way, using WASD controls as they navigate a new map and face endless hordes of monsters, with special bosses called Primordians to keep the gameplay exciting. The game mode allows players to mix and match augments as well as unlock permanent upgrades to boost their chances of survival. The special Swarm game mode also allows players to fight with friends in teams of four, with each player piloting one of the different characters in League‘s Anima Squad skin line. The Swarm game mode is scheduled to arrive with the launch of the Anima Squad Event on July 17th’s 14.14 patch.
