South Australian police say they are responding to a light plane crash in the state’s far north.
They say they have received reports the plane has gone down in a paddock in Mulgathing, about 200 kilometres south-west of Coober Pedy.
Police have said they are yet to arrive at the scene.
Details are unclear but the alarm was raised about 9:30am.
“Emergency services are making their way to the scene of the crash and further details will be provided as they become available,” SA Police said in a statement.
Mulgathing is the site of a remote sheep station in outback South Australia, west of the Stuart Highway and near Tarcoola.
There is an airstrip at the 530,000-hectare station.
According to the website of the station’s operator Jumbuck Pastoral, a plane is used to “facilitate mustering” on the property, “on the fringe of the Great Victorian Desert”.
