LIVE AFL: Can anyone stop them? Swans’ next big test as top-four rivals Cats come to town

Must read

Sydney comes out of its midseason bye as the AFL’s clear flag favourite, and now faces a top-four test against rivals Geelong.

The Swans (10-1, 150.1%) are three wins clear of the chasing pack, having only lost to Richmond back in Round 3, and are surging towards their first minor premiership since 2016.

The Cats (8-4, 112.9%) finally snapped a four-game losing skid last Saturday against the Tigers, but they have not looked anything like the side that sat 7-0 and on top of the ladder a few weeks ago.

Dependable key defender Tom McCartin makes an awaited return from concussion, having replaced like-for-like Aaron Francis at Thursday’s selection.

Chris Scott’s Cats, on the other hand, swung three changes to the side that beat Richmond, welcoming back Mark Blicavs and Jhye Clark from suspension, as well as veteran ruckman Rhys Stanley.

Oliver Henry (Injured), Zach Tuohy (Injured) and Toby Conway (Injured) made way.

The match gets underway at 3:20pm from the SCG.
