Live: Magpies on top of Bombers after five-goal burst in opening term

The Magpies still have concerns about the fitness of Josh Daicos, who has been hindered by a calf injury in the lead-up to this evening’s match.

Daicos underwent a fitness test on the MCG earlier tonight, with the Magpies saying they will give him up until game time to be receive the green light.

Elsewhere in team news, the Magpies have include Charlie Dean and Lachie Schultz to make a return to the senior line-up, while Ned Long is in line to debut after being named the sub.

Beau McCreery (calf injury) and John Noble (concussion) were ruled out and Lachie Sullivan was omitted.

The Bombers have selected Dylan Shiel for just his second AFL match this season, and Nate Caddy and Jake Kelly were also named to face the Magpies.

Nick Hind is the Bombers’ sub.

Jye Menzie was omitted, with Dyson Heppell and Todd Goldstein being managed and given the night off.

Congratulations to Bombers vice-captain Andrew McGrath, who is playing his 150th AFL match tonight.
