Location of Perth’s next 24/7 Starbucks revealed

Must read

The location of Perth’s next Starbucks has been revealed, with coffee lovers close to the CBD set for a 40-minute drive to get their caffeine hit.

The famous American coffee chain could be coming to Butler if a proposal for a 24-hour drive-thru outlet is approved.

The development would include a restaurant, an alfresco area and a drive-thru lane accommodating 11 vehicles.

The City of Wanneroo is asking the public for their feedback and comments on the proposed fast-food outlet at 40 Butler Boulevard, Butler.

The cafe would be the fourth Starbucks in WA, with stores approved for Clarkson, Ellenbrook and Hammond Park.

Last month, parents were left outraged when a Starbucks and McDonald’s restaurant was approved for a site near Hammond Park Primary School.

The Department of Education raised concerns that the proximity of the school to fast-food outlets could “result in unhealthy diets”.

Concerns were also raised about possible exposure to emissions from the service station and the compounding existing parking and traffic issues, which could compromise pedestrian safety.

Despite nearly 60 per cent of the submissions received during public consultations opposing the development, all but one Cockburn councillor approved it.
