Finals venues for AFL Barwon’s three leagues have been revealed. See where the deciders will be played.
Leopold Memorial Park, where a packed out Geelong Football Netball League grand final was held last year, will play host to the last two weeks of the BFNL finals.
Leopold is a central location between all 10 BFNL sides and have strong links to the competition, given they were in the BFNL until 1990 before moving into the GFNL.
Portarlington Recreation Reserve will host the first two weeks of the BFNL finals series.
Meanwhile, the first three weeks of the GFNL finals will remain at Geelong West’s West Oval before a grand final at GMHBA Stadium on the AFL grand final public holiday.
Meanwhile, the Colac & District Football Netball League finals will be held at Central Reserve in Colac.
Venues for female senior football and junior finals, and male junior football finals will be decided in the coming weeks.
“AFL Barwon is enthused by the on-court and on-field action that has transpired so far in 2024, and the Finals Series is shaping up to be exceptional, thanks to the generous and committed support of affiliated Clubs, in hosting Geelong FNL, Bellarine FNL, Junior Male (TBA), Female Football Finals and All Abilities FNL Finals,” AFL Barwon regional manager Ed Wilson said.
“These Finals promote local Clubs and the communities in which they represent, and we encourage all members of the community to be part of these celebrations, in concluding the 2024 Football & Netball seasons”.
