An Australian confectionery maker has made a major change to one of the nation’s most loved sweets to cater to health conscious consumers.

From July, the Natural Confectionery Co. will start supplying Australian retailers with bags of slithery snakes that contain 50 per cent less sugar.

The Aussie made jellies that contain no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners will come in five delicious flavours including raspberry, blackcurrant, boysenberry, mango and lime

The new product range features half as less sugar compared to the average amount of sugar in other lollies, satisfying the demand for reduced sugar snacking options.

Mondelez International vice president marketing Australia and New Zealand Ben Wicks said they were excited to expand the range with the introduction of an all-time Aussie favourite.

‘This product brings one of Australia’s most loved lollies into a better-for-you option, serving the growing consumer interest in reduced sugar lollies, while still tasting great,’ he said.

The New Natural Confectionery Co. 50% Less Sugar* Snakes lollies will be available from supermarkets nationwide from July for about $5.
