Make Dad a self care convert this Father’s Day with our fave Kiehl’s gift set

Must read

When it comes to skincare, I’m the one my friends call. Whether they’re trying to find a sunscreen that doesn’t leave a white cast or a cleanser that’s hydrating and doesn’t strip every morsel of moisture out of their faces, I’m always one phone call away. Wait — did I say that my female friends are usually the ones who tend to ask about the specifics? Yep, somehow the guys don’t share the same curiosity. So, to get them to take better care of their skin, two years ago, I started gifting them this Kiehl’s skincare set for every birthday and Father’s Day (one of them is a proud dad who now has glowing skin *pats self on back*), and this year’s no different.

Since the holiday that’s all about fatherhood is just around the corner, I’m about to buy two more sets so my guys can re-up, and I figured I’d share the wealth with you!

This is the best and easiest way for Dad to get his feet wet in the skincare pond. You don’t even have to hold his hand!

While there are tons of guys who love skincare like I do, chances are most of us probably know more men who couldn’t care less. If your dad or partner is a guy who could use a simple skincare routine, but isn’t motivated to start one on his own, get him this set. It has everything he’ll need (excluding an SPF — be sure to also get him an SPF; this one is my favorite) from beginning to end.

The Kiehl’s Fan Favorites Gift Set comes with four travel-size best sellers from the brand: the Ultra Facial Cleanser, Retinol Skin Renewing Daily Micro Dose Serum, Ultra Facial Cream and Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, and it just may be his gateway gift set to skincare obsession.

If you’ve heard about any of these products, it’s likely the cult favorite Ultra Facial Cream. It’s rich and hydrating and provides just the right amount of moisturizing for someone with normal-to-dry skin. This was the first face moisturizer I ever invested in when I started a real skincare routine. Years later, it’s still one of my all-time favorites and is one of the best no-frills face moisturizers you’ll find.

When I first gifted this set to my friends a couple of years ago, they each told me the Ultra Facial Cream was their favorite of the four, thanks to its simplicity and it’s ability to be gentle, non-stripping and truly effective for all skin types. There’s no offputting or flowery scent or greasy finish. It just leaves your face looking and feeling moisturized and clean.

If there’s a dad in your life who can use a skincare routine or needs to update the one he has, this is a great place to start. (Sephora)

Take it from me — any dad in your life will love this set (and probably needs it), especially since they don’t have to go buy anything else. It’s all there!

One male shopper at Sephora said he loves this gift set because there’s no guessing involved. “What I like about this kit is that I don’t have to think about what a full skincare regimen is as all the components are packed in a box for me,” the shopper wrote. “From start to finish, I can not only sample a range of products, but also have exposure [to] products I might not buy on my own.”

Also, if Dad prefers doctor-approved products, another reviewer explained that their dermatologist actually put them on to this. “He recommended this brand as the best,” the shopper said. “It leaves my skin feeling soft, rejuvenated and works quickly to clear up blemishes. Definitely worth investing in.”

And if your dad travels often, this set couldn’t be more fitting since the products are all travel-size and TSA-friendly. So, all he has to do is throw them in a bag and go. “This is perfect to take traveling since all the items are under 3 ounces,” another reviewer wrote. “This gift set is a great value price too.”

Some shoppers said this set would be a 10/10 if it came with an exfoliant, but given its current value, they admitted that you can’t go wrong with what you get. For reference, this set is valued at $97, but is currently priced at $68 — that’s a pretty worthwhile investment.

Also, who doesn’t like options? If you’d rather buy a Kiehl’s skincare set that has six products instead of four, and retails for the same price, the On-The-Go Essentials Gift Set is my top recommendation. In addition to the Ultra Facial Cleanser, retinol serum, Creamy Eye Treatment and Ultra Facial Cream, it comes with Kiehl’s popular Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask. With this set, you definitely get a lot of product for your money.

Now, excuse me while I go checkout!
