Man allegedly caught with knife at Adelaide shopping centre

A 47-year-old man was allegedly caught with a knife at Westfield West Lakes Shopping Centre in Adelaide’s west.

It’s the third incident in which weapons have allegedly been brought into an Adelaide shopping centre this week.

Witnesses reported the man from Seaton to police after seeing the weapon at 3.10pm on Tuesday.

South Australia Police searched the man and allegedly found a knife.

The 47-year-old was charged with carrying an offensive weapon was refused police bail.

Three teenagers were charged earlier this week after a brawl erupted at Westfield Marion in which several youths were allegedly armed with a machete and batons.

The incident led to a lockdown of the shopping centre, traumatising families at the centre.

Another group of teenagers were charged on Tuesday after allegedly threatening a man with a knife at Arndale Shopping Centre.
