Officers discovered a 39-year-old Two Mile man, who had sustained serious injuries, and a 33-year-old Maroochydore man, who had sustained minor injuries.
The 39-year-old man was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.
Police believe the two men had been assaulted by a third man, who had fled the scene.
“It was seemingly random attacks on these two victims and appears to have been unprovoked at this stage,” Senior Sergeant Mansfield told reporters today.
“We are concerned. He seemingly looked under the influence of some substances and was behaving quite erratically at the scene.
“He has assaulted two people randomly so is potentially dangerous to approach.”
Mansfield confirmed there were no weapons involved.
“We will be alleging there was stomping involved on the 39-year-old victim,” he said.
“He was seemingly unconscious on the ground and then he continued to kick him in the head and the back.
“It was a brutal attack.”
Nambour is located about 112 km north of Brisbane.
Police are searching for the third man involved, who is described as Caucasian in appearance, and was wearing a grey jumper, dark shorts, and thongs.
