Queensland police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was allegedly stabbed to death in a Thai restaurant.

Nationals leader David Littleproud says the Queensland government has “lost control” of its streets.

“Queensland police force are about 4,000 police short,” Mr Littleproud said.

“I hardly think the Queensland police force are worrying about enforcing mandatory vape laws.”

Emergency services were called to the Joy Thai restaurant in the Townsville suburb of Kirwan about 4.40pm on Monday, 20 minutes prior to the eatery’s opening at 5pm.

A police spokesperson said officers on their arrival found a man with “multiple serious injuries”.

“Despite attempts to revive the man, he was declared deceased at the scene,” they said.

Police have commenced a homicide investigation after the sudden death in the restaurant on Thuringowa Dr.
