Man’s body found, woman shot in hand in alleged domestic violence incident

A man has been found dead after a woman was allegedly shot in the hand in what is being described as a domestic violence incident near the NSW-Victoria border.

Emergency services were called to Reynella Road at Walbundrie, near Albury, following reports of a shooting about 8.35 am today.

Officers were told a 68-year-old man had allegedly shot a 51-year-old woman in her right hand at the front gate of the property.

The man allegedly drove off and a crime scene was established.

A short time later, a second crime scene was set-up on Walla Walla Road at Gerogery, about 30 kilometres away.

The body of a man was found near Kings Bridge Road at Culcairn around 11.45 am.

Although the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be the 68-year-old man, police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
