Race 3 – 7. Coppleson
The three runs this campaign for Coppleson have only returned one placing, but he’s going much better than the form reads. Often settling back in slowly run races, Coppleson was set an impossible task last time, only able to finish within 6.4 lengths of the winner despite running the fastest last 600m, 400m & 200m of the race.
Premiership leading jockey Anthony Darmanin going on looks positive, and I expect the 4YO to take holding out if he’s close enough on the home turn.

Race 4 – 7. Rubick’s Affair
I was taken by the first-up win of Rubick’s Affair, who ran right up to the strong market support. The best part of her race was the finish there, giving every indication that the rise to 1350m should only be a positive.
She rises in weight and is a 3YO filly taking on more seasoned campaigners, but I think she has much more scope than her opposition, and that class can prevail.

Race 6 – 6. Alpine Aviator
I’m not certain how the market will shape for the first leg of the quaddie, but I’ll be happy to play Alpine Aviator each-way if it’s presented. There’s a stack of speed in this 1009m sprint, and I’m looking for one who’ll have the last crack at them.
Alpine Aviator lost by the narrowest of margins over 1150m a month ago, and that winner has since won again. He’s had a tick over trial since that run, and while I’d prefer this race was at 1150m, he’s placed in two of three runs at the T&D.
