McCain family pizzas recalled nationwide after metal found

The popular brand of frozen pizzas are sold at Woolworths and independent retailers including IGA nationally; Coles, Aldi in NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC, SA, NT and WA and Drakes in QLD and SA.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand have put out an alert about the recall, warning consumers not to eat the pizzas.

“Food products containing metal may cause illness/injury if consumed,” the recall notice states.

The affected flavours are the 500g McCain ham & pineapple family pizza with a ‘best before’ date of April 2025 097 and the 500g McCain BBQ chicken & pineapple family pizza with ‘best before’ dates of April 2024 097 and April 2024 098.

Consumers who have purchased pizzas with the above best-before dates are being told to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” the recall states.
