Meghan Markle ‘ready’ for summit talks with Royal Family

Must read

A royal insider has claimed Meghan Markle is “ready” to potentially sit down with the entire royal family to “talk through” grievances amid reports the Sussexes are house hunting in the United Kingdom.

SkyNews.com.au Digital Reporter Reilly Sullivan says Meghan Markle is “struggling” to find guests for her new Lemonada podcast.

“I reckon a good guest would be Priyanka Chopra-Jonas because we know that she is a close friend of Meghan’s even before Meghan was a Royal,” he told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

“So I reckon that would be like a safe bet but other than that some people suggested maybe she could start interviewing her Suits co-stars.”

Markle, 42, and her husband Prince Harry have grown increasingly estranged from the monarchy since “stepping back” from royal duties in 2020 and moving to the United States.

Tensions between the Sussexes and the royal family have steadily increased over the past four years after Harry and Meghan spilled royal secrets in an Oprah Winfrey interview, a Netflix docu-series, and the Duke of Sussex’s memoir Spare.

Crucially, Meghan has publicly claimed that senior royals made racially insensitive remarks about her unborn son Prince Archie’s skin colour and claimed the royal family ignored concerns about her mental health.

Despite earlier reports stating Meghan was standing in the way of Harry reconciling with his family, royal biographer Angela Levin believes the Duchess is finally “ready” to sit down with her in-laws.

“(Meghan’s) still genuinely hurt by how she was treated by the Royal Family – this is four years on,” she told GB News on Saturday.

“And she wants to now at last sit down and talk through things.”

The impasse in relations between the Sussexes and the royal family is understood to be linked to Meghan’s insistence on wanting an apology from the crown for perceived mistreatment.

As a result, Meghan declined an invitation to the King’s coronation last year and did not join Harry on a recent visit to London to mark the tenth anniversary of the Duke’s signature Invictus Games.

Simultaneously, Charles, William and Kate are seeking their own apology from Harry and Meghan over unflattering remarks made in the Netflix series and Spare.

Ms Levin claimed that while Meghan still wants the Royal Family to “make an apology” it is highly unlikely either side will ever accept blame for the feud.

“The person who should apologise is really her, but they (Harry and Meghan) don’t want that,” she said.

The update comes amid reports the Sussexes are house hunting in the UK one year after being evicted from their previous home, Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate.

Charles, 75, tore up the lease on Frogmore just weeks after Spare hit shelves, a decision which reportedly shocked the Sussexes who intended to maintain the home as a second base.

Meanwhile, William is reportedly spearheading efforts to keep the Sussexes away from royal occasions and cut his brother off for good following the publication of Spare.
